Thermal Balloon Ablation of Endometrium - for menorrhogea
This is a new modality to control excessive uterine haemorrhogea by removing inner most layer of uterus
In this procedure, a special designed balloon catheter is passed through uterine cavity.A heated fluid is passed through catheter to create certain fix intra uterine pressure. Procedure is continued for 10-15 min. The procedure can be done under local anaesthesia or under general anaesthesia.
1.Prior to produce, endometrial material is sent for H.P.E
2.Patient is discharged from the hospital after 4 to 6 hours.
3.Patient can resume normal work after 48 hours.
INDICATIONS FOR (THERMAL BALLOON ABLATION)
- Adenomycis of uterus
- Small fibroids (up to 10-12 weeks pregnant uterus size)
CONTRA INDICATION
1. Dysfunctional uterine haemorrhage(D.U.H)
2.Suspected or confirm cancer of uterus or cervix
3.Uterine infection (First infection should be treated)
4.Very big uterine cavity (More than 12 weeks Patient wants child bearing function
